Looking for a Valentine’s celebration that’s a little different this year? Step onto the dance floor and enjoy a joyful, feel-good evening learning the basics of ballroom in a warm, friendly atmosphere - no experience required!

Our special Valentine’s Day workshop is designed for complete beginners who want to try something new, share a laugh, and enjoy moving to beautiful music. Guided by our expert tutor Lawrence, you and your partner will explore simple, elegant ballroom steps that are easy to pick up and guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Expect light-hearted teaching, plenty of encouragement, and a relaxed space where you can have fun, connect, and maybe even discover a new shared hobby. Whether you’re absolute first-timers or simply looking for a memorable date night, this workshop offers the perfect mix of romance, rhythm, and laughter.

About the tutor: Lawrence James

Lawrence James has a rich background in ballroom dance, starting his journey at the age of 5. He has been a UK national finalist and champion, representing England at the Junior world championships. His competitive career has led him to become a world amateur Latin finalist at the Italian and Paris open. After a successful competitive career, Lawrence transitioned into teaching, passing his associate examination with 99% in both practical and theoretical sections. He also attained a first-class degree in contemporary dance at AUB university and completed an apprenticeship with the Jasmin Vardimon company. Lawrence has worked in various projects, including performing and teaching with step change studios, and has appeared in TV and film productions. His dedication to dance and education is evident in his work with Dance Crazy Bournemouth, where he prepares students for exams, shows, medallist, and Pro-Am competitions.
