Staying Steady at Totton Creative Hub
Practical tools for managing anxiety, overwhelm and burnout as a creative.
Being an artist or creative freelancer can be brilliant, meaningful, and exciting but it can also be lonely, uncertain and overwhelming. Juggling deadlines, money worries, self-promotion, rejection, irregular work, and the pressure to always be ‘on’ can take a real toll.
This one-off session with wellbeing practitioner and Fluid Motion Artistic Director Leigh Johnstone, will offer practical, down-to-earth tools for managing anxiety, navigating pressured moments, and protecting yourself from burnout.
The session will explore how to recognise early signs of overwhelm, create healthier boundaries, stay focused during busy or uncertain periods, and build small, realistic habits that support resilience and work/life balance. There will be space for reflection, discussion and simple exercises designed specifically with artists and creative freelancers in mind.
This is not a clinical session, but a supportive and practical space to think about how we take care of ourselves while continuing to make, create and work in a sector that can often ask a lot from us.
Ideal for artists, makers, performers, writers, producers, freelancers and creative practitioners at any stage of their career.
