An improvers workshop aimed at participants with a level of experience or who have attended Dave Whites basic sessions.

Dave White will be leading this workshop and the session will cover :

 

1.5 hours Acrylic Techniques – Moody Skies
1 hour Wave.                                 
0.5 Lunch
1.0 Fall and Wash
1.0 Rocks and pebbles
1.0 Sprays and Glaze

 Students will need to bring:

  • Either a 20 x 16” stretched canvas or similar size canvas board
  • Or if you prefer paper
  • a Block of at least 500 x 400mm 140lb rough artists paper or similar proportion
  • 75ml tubes of acrylic paint; Cadmium Red Deep or Crimson, Cadmium Yellow, Ultramarine and Pthalo or Prussian Blue, Titanium White (plus Hookers Green, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber and Yellow Ochre)
  • You will find it easier if you bring your own easel
  • Paper kitchen towel
  • 2 containers for water (preferably not glass)
  • Plastic palette or a saucer for mixing paint
  • a 1 inch wide synthetic (watercolour) flat brush
  • Some reference for a painting you might like to try and most importantly….
  • Any other paintbrushes you might care to bring
  • an open and willing heart with a smile!

Dave White is a local artist and is the author of the book ‘Sea and Sky in Acrylics‘, which analyses the characteristics of seascapes, how they can inspire and what techniques you can use to describe them in acrylic paint. Dave is also a well-known pet portraitist and landscape painter and is exhibiting in January at Forest Arts Centre from the 7 Jan - 15 Feb 2023.
