Spend 2 hours a week over a 6 week period learning about the wonderful world of ceramics.  This course is designed to give you an all round pottery experience taking you from a raw lump of clay through to the finished glazed piece. You will be able to see your creations through each stage of the process.  During the course there will be an opportunity to learn how to throw and trim pots on a potter's wheel. Hand build with clay including slab building and pinch potting. Finishing, decorating and glazing. All abilities are welcome whether you want to try something new or build on existing skills there will be something for everyone. This will be a friendly and encouraging class where you can be creative with clay. 

This short course is designed for participants to progress their skills and learn more about the process of ceramics. Maisie Jones "The Touring Potter" Is a Dorset based cermicist. Who has been working with clay for 12 years. She trained in ceramics at The University of Brighton gaining a Ba Hons degree in 3D Design and Craft. Since completing her studies she has worked as a teacher, artisan maker and commercial manufacturer of ceramics. She has been running The Touring Potter a mobile pottery business for just over a year sharing her love for pottery with clients across the UK. This has included working with ceramic studios, schools, care homes, local businesses in hospitality and with groups and individuals in her home studio in Christchurch. She is highly creative and enthusiastic about her craft and will accommodate all levels of experience in her classes. She aims to make pottery something all can experience and enjoy.
