Pilates Foundations

Suitable for beginners and improvers; if you've ever wanted to try Pilates, haven't exercised in a while or are recovering from an injury then this is for you. Pilates is a low-impact form of exercise focusing on building core strength, mobility, balance, body awareness and postural alignment. The Foundations sessions are designed to teach you the principles of Pilates in a relaxed setting with options available to suit your level. Involving standing and mat work, feel free to bring a small towel/ cushion for comfort.

As a dance and fitness instructor my work is diverse and brings me into contact with all walks of life; I enjoy teaching all ages and abilities across a range of venues, from private solo sessions to large groups in the community. My aim is to ensure that each participant feels included and relaxed and in turn reaps the physical and mental health rewards that exercise can bring.
Movement for therapeutic benefits is an area that I’m very interested in and continue to explore, I particularly enjoy teaching the Parkinson's Dance and M.S Elevate classes. From the age of 10 to 17 years dance was a passion; taking part in festivals, competitions and exams, and as an adult I returned to classes and subsequently trained to become a fitness instructor. Since 2017 I have taught a variety of styles for wellbeing and fun, from Pilates and aerobics to themed hen parties and relaxation retreats. I don't subscribe to the "no pain no gain" theory! I believe exercise should be enjoyable, heighten your mind-body awareness and leave you feeling better and walking taller after a class than before you went in. Preferably with a smile on your face!
