🌟 For ages 5-8
When: Every Monday from 12 January 2026 (no class during half term w.b. 16 Feb) 4 PM - 5 PM
Tickets: £5.50 drop in or £55 for the term equating to 11 sessions at a discounted rate.
What you need: Wear clothes you don't mind making a mess in and a bottle of water. Materials will be provided, please do bring your own if required.
Tutor: Helena Marchese
Helena Marchese is a printmaker and illustrator based in The New Forest, Hampshire. She works in traditional and print media with an interest in dry point, type, letterpress and collage of found materials. Her work responds to lived experience and observations drawing out narratives that are thought provoking, charming and unique. She has exhibited her work locally and regionally including The St Barbe Open 2024 and The Royal West of England Academy 171st Open Exhibition 2024-2025. She is an exhibiting member of Poole Printmakers.
Helena has a wealth of experience working with children, young people with learning disabilities and autism and adults with dementia and their carers delivering tailored workshops with a focus on experimentation, exploration, accessibility and inclusion. She has worked with local organisations including SPUDworks, St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery and Scarf New Forest as well as providing outreach sessions in local schools and nursing homes.
CYP Class Etiquette & Expectations
To ensure a safe, focused, and supportive environment for all children, we kindly ask parents and carers to observe the following guidelines when attending CYP classes:
- Drop-off and pick-up:
Parents are strongly encouraged to leave children in the space at the start of the session and return only when the tutor opens the door to signal that the class has ended. This supports children in building confidence, independence, and a positive relationship with their tutor. - Parent presence:
If a parent remains in the room, they must not participate in activities or interact with other children. Our sessions are led by trained practitioners who are responsible for holding the space and supporting all children. - Interaction boundaries:
Parents and carers should not intervene in the session unless directly requested by the tutor. This helps maintain a calm, consistent, and safe learning environment for everyone. - Language and behaviour:
Respectful language and behaviour are expected at all times within the space. This ensures a welcoming and appropriate environment for children, families, and staff.
