Interested in Lifedrawing but feel intimated and don’t know where or how to start? Join local artist and tutor Jack Metcalf as he takes students through a short course designed to teach you the skills and techniques needed to build your confidence in Lifedrawing. Jack will give guidance on how to get better proportions and shapes as well as ideas on how to loosen up and quickly capture gesture and movement when drawing from a live model. Lifedrawing has been a fundamental skill for artists for centuries but it can be intimidating getting started. This class will be a relaxed and fun way to get started with Lifedrawing!

Session: Saturday 12 October 2024 - 2 November 2024, 1.30pm-3.30pm

Tickets: £60/£54

Tutor: Jack Metcalf

Jack has a strong connection to landscapes and the environment and throughout his life has sought out different ways to engage with them. He has studied environmental sciences and travelled widely throughout the world which has fostered his love for nature and landscapes. Like a lot of people during the pandemic he started to take his creative practice more seriously and took up landscape painting with oils and acrylics. He has developed his skills through a sustained period of study at The Classical Art Academy in Southbourne and short courses at AUB and elsewhere. Jack also started and runs a lifedrawing group in Bournemouth and regularly runs art classes in the Bournemouth and Dorset area. Jack is passionate about making Fine Art skills more accessible and particularly enjoys sharing his knowledge about oil and landscape painting.
