Presenting a monthly night of hand-picked comedians from the UK circuit, including established headliners, TV names and the best new talent from the south coast.
Joe Wells writes “surprising and thought-provoking material” (The Guardian) about politics, mental health and being autistic.
He is a favourite amongst other comedians and has supported Frankie Boyle, Alexei Sayle and Stephen K Amos. In 2020 Joe went viral with his stand up clip 'Joe Wells on having a non-autistic brother' which gained over 2.5 million views across platforms.
Chelsea regularly performs her smart, silly and open-hearted stand-up at the UK's top comedy clubs and has been invited to perform in New York and Paris. She was a finalist and runner-up in several prestigious comedy competitions. She was tour support for Helen Bauer and Fern Brady.
Sharon Wanjohi is an up and coming stand up comedian with a varied act ranging from shock to absurd comedy. A Chortle Student Comedy Award Finalist and Funny Women Stage Award Finalist, with 2 years on the circuit, she talks (maybe too much) about children's films and the cartoon dilfs that inspired a generation of sexual awakenings. And she thinks Ratatouille is a commentary on race.
In 2022 Sharon featured in the Channel 4 online series Jokes Only A … Can Tell and The Big Breakfast. In 2023 Sharon has appeared on The Laura Whitmore Breakfast Show and will feature on fifth series of ITV’s The Stand Up Sketch Show.
Event: Next Comedy Club Thursday 9 November, 7:30pm
