This series of workshops is to allow you to explore and develop your knife and carving skills producing your own set of cutlery starting with a butter spreader/knife to learn the basics of knife safety and skills, the second session to make a two or three pronged fork building on the skills from first session and developing the shaping and finishing skills. The final session you will be producing a spoon introducing you to the hook knife and the how to use it to produce a full set to be proud of !
All tools and materials provided including thumb guards. For ages 8+, child tickets includes one adult to assist during class. Child ticket will work on one set of KFS as a pair. Choose adult only ticket for anyone over 16 who can participate unattended and work independently.
Sessions: Saturday 22 June - 6 July 2024, 10am-12pm.

Tutor: Alex Irwin
Alex is an experienced bushcraft tutor as well as being highly qualified personal trainer/sports therapist, certified movement specialist working with clients of all ages. He has over 20 years experience in the industry and has a holistic and inclusive view of health, fitness and wellbeing. Alex conducts therapy sessions including sports massage, corporate wellness programs and works in a local New forest spa & health club as a senior trainer.
