For confident and experienced tap dancers looking to extend their repertoire at a faster pace. We will work on new combinations and use them to build a routine over the term.
What you need: Wear comfy clothes and bring plenty of water.
Tutor: Lucy Kelleher
Lucy enjoys teaching dance, drama, art and craft for all members of the community. As a former Primary School teacher, Lucy has taught across the primary age range, but is equally at home teaching adults. Lucy really loves tap dancing and has been dancing for well over 30 years! She has gone through a few pairs of tap shoes!!
Dancing is proven to have a positive impact on both physical and mental health and is a great way to have fun. Lucy teaches several genres of dance including tap, musicals, dancercise for Mencap and co teaches dance for Parkinsons and wheelchair dancing. Lucy also teaches keep fit classes in the form of DiscoFit, Parkinsons exercise and chair-obics. Lucy also enjoys arts and crafts and has taught Tiny Fingers, Art for Parkinsons and craft sessions for Mencap.
Lucy is involved in the amateur dramatic scene locally and has performed, directed and/or choreographed for Christchurch Gilbert and Sullivan Society, Milton Musical Society and New Forest Players. She can also often be found entertaining at local care homes. She also performs (or persuades class attendees to perform) for charity and have raised funs for Oakhaven Hopsice, MacMIllan Caring Locally, MacMillan Cancer Care and Children in Need. You may also be interested to read that Lucy appeared on Sky’s “Got To Dance” show and also took part in the opening ceremony of the London Paralympics 2012.
