Forest Arts is open for pre-booked summer classes, workshops and films! Please read on for details of how we are re-opening.
We’re looking forward to opening our doors again and this is just the beginning. We have not stopped working during lockdown, offering online classes and sharing ideas and inspiration through Culture on Call. Now, as well as our classes and workshops, we are planning how we can continue to offer fantastic live music, comedy, theatre and other events in a friendly, creative and safe environment, both on and offline, from September onwards. Read a personal message from our Artistic Director, Bridget Floyer.
To help keep everyone safe, we’ve made some changes at Forest Arts Centre. We have introduced a number of measures in line with government guidelines to help manage our visitor numbers and ensure we maintain social distancing to protect you, our staff and volunteers. Please read on for information about booking your visit and what to expect when you are with us.
What we are doing to help reduce the spread of COVID-19
- Giving you a warm welcome at a safe distance
- Opening for pre-booked, ticketed activities and events only
- Using signage to help you maintain social distance
- Asking for cashless payment wherever possible
- Providing hand sanitiser for you to use
- Reducing capacities for activities and events
If you have any concerns or questions during your visit, please talk to a member of our team – they will be happy to help you.
You can find out answers to some commonly asked questions in our reopening and coronavirus information and FAQs.
We are open for customers who have pre-booked for classes, workshops and events only. Our box office is open to take calls only from 9am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday. Please note that the Children’s Play Area will not be accessible.
Social distancing and hygiene
During your visit, we ask that you follow our guidelines on social distancing and hygiene to help keep us all safe. We are operating a one-way system at Forest Arts Centre, which is indicated by signage. Hand sanitiser stations are positioned at the box office and entrances to the theatre and second foyer. We ask that all class and workshop participants over the age of 11 wear face coverings.
Our toilets will be open to class, workshop and event customers only.
Café and bar
The café will be open when pre-booked classes, workshops and events are taking place only, with a limited selection of drinks and snacks available. We’re passing on the VAT reduction on all applicable products. The reduction will be applied at the till when you make your purchase.
In accordance with government guidelines, we have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment to make our sites COVID secure and identify risk control measures.
We're good to go
The Visit Britain We’re Good to Go symbol shows that Forest Arts Centre has followed government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and that we have processes in place to help keep everyone safe.
Forest Arts Centre is operated by Hampshire Cultural Trust, a registered charity. The coronavirus has had a huge impact on all of us. Please donate to help us re-connect communities through culture.
