St Agnes Fountain

Since the group’s first recording of the eponymous St Agnes Fountain album in 2001, founder member David Hughes, Fairport Convention's Chris Leslie and BBC Folk Awards Best Duo 2009, Chris While and Julie Matthews, have brought musical invention and laughter to the star-dust atmosphere of the season.

"The Aggies" released their 8th studio album 25/12 in December 2017 once again combining new versions of classic Christmas carols, original compositions and one or two fun surprises.

Although the albums accompany the putting up of a thousand Christmas trees around the globe as their reputation reaches further afield, it is, without question, their magical live performances that have endeared them to an ever-growing audience.

In 2020, David decided to leave the band to concentrate on solo pursuits and whilst his presence will be missed, Chris, Chris and Julie will be keeping the Christmas Aggie spirit alive and touring as a trio. They’re looking forward to recording a new album and celebrating 20 years together with a tour of the new material and reworking those old Aggie classics in what will be a new chapter in the unstoppable force of St Agnes Fountain. .
