She’Koyokh burst on to the scene in the early noughties, busking London’s East End and Portobello markets. Now they have over twenty years’ expertise collecting and performing traditional music from Eastern Europe and the Balkans plus four critically acclaimed studio albums. The band has featured at international festivals, arts centres, radio stations and audiences across the world. Their broad repertoire embraces the exhilarating rhythms of Bulgaria, virtuosic kolos from Serbian weddings, dances drawn from the Jewish Klezmer and Sephardic traditions, and intricate dance tunes from across Romania, Greece, Turkey and beyond. This is a special opportunity to hear just the core string players of the larger seven-piece ensemble: Meg Hamilton on violin, Matt Bacon on guitar and Paul Moylan on double bass.
"One of London’s musical treasures, playing the best Balkan and klezmer music in Britain.” - The Evening Standard.
