Join Maisie The Touring Potter for a Valentines Pottery class at Forest Arts Centre on Wednesday 14th February. This will be be a combined workshop working on both the potters wheel and handbuilding with clay. Spend 2 hours crafting a set of ceramic hanging heart decorations as well as a heart shaped bowl. Maisie will help and guide you through the process of working with clay so no experience is needed! At the end of the class Maisie will take the clay creations back to her studio to be fired in the kiln. The finished glazed work will be dropped off at Forest Arts to be collected approximately 6 weeks after the workshop.

Maisie Jones "The Touring Potter" Is a Dorset based cermicist. Who has been working with clay for 12 years. She trained in ceramics at The University of Brighton gaining a Ba Hons degree in 3D Design and Craft. Since completing her studies she has worked as a teacher, artisan maker and commercial manufacturer of ceramics. She has been running The Touring Potter a mobile pottery business for just over a year sharing her love for pottery with clients across the UK. This has included working with ceramic studios, schools, care homes, local businesses in hospitality and with groups and individuals in her home studio in Christchurch. She is highly creative and enthusiastic about her craft and will accommodate all levels of experience in her classes. She aims to make pottery something all can experience and enjoy.
