Lino block printing is a simple technique for design and pattern making with unlimited outcomes. This course will take you through the basics of image transfer, repeating patterns, block cutting and applying colour.
What to bring: Material provided please bring your own if you have them:
- A5 Lino blocks
- Cutting tools
- Scalpel knives
- Tracing Paper
Tutor: Noel Holmes
Noel has a broad based experience in Art and Design which underpins her teaching practice In a variety of contexts. She has trained in both Fine Art and textile print design and her career includes commercial print design for a variety of textile companies for interiors.
Currently producing her own range of fabrics, wall papers and light shades, she understands colour relationships is a very importance element in her work.
In parallel to her practice, Noel has worked as a free lance art and design tutor primarily at Arts University Bournemouth where she has taught on the Foundation Course, Textile Degree and running classes for the short courses programme in drawing, life painting, landscape painting and textile print.
