A class for all levels of experience, exploring the fundamental nature of painting still life objects. The course will take students through a variety of lessons designed to understand the basics and experiment with colour and texture. 

What you need: We are not providing materials at this time, please bring gouache paints and paint brushes. The centre has limited materials to share, paper will be provided. 

Recommend Materials:

Pebeo 220ml gouache in the following colours: permanent white, ivory black, yellow, cadmium red, carmine, primary cyan, ultramarine.

Tutor: Noel Holmes

Noel has a broad-based experience in Art and Design which underpins her teaching practice In a variety of contexts. Noel trained in both Fine Art and textile print design, her career includes commercial print design for a variety of textile companies for interiors. She is currently producing her own range of fabrics, wallpapers and light shades. Understanding colour relationships is a very important element in her work. In parallel to her practice Noel has worked as a freelance art and design tutor primarily at Arts University Bournemouth where she has taught on the Foundation Course, Textile Degree and running classes for the short courses programme in drawing, life painting, landscape painting and textile print.
