An introduction to Qi Gong. “Qi” meaning energy or life force and “Gong” meaning to work or to gather. Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese medicine and system of exercise and breathing. It will improve your mental and physical health by helping relief stress and promote relaxation. Improving movement and energy levels as well as improve your body posture, coordination and breathing.

Tutor: Alex Irwin
Alex is a highly qualified and experienced personal trainer/sports therapist and certified movement specialist working with clients of all ages. He has over 20 years experience in the industry and has a holistic and inclusive view of health, fitness and wellbeing. Alex conducts therapy sessions including sports massage, corporate wellness programs and works in a local New Forest Spa & Health Club as a senior trainer.

Class access information
This workshop will run live via Zoom, an online streaming website. Zoom is an online platform which allows you to talk live to your tutor and classmates via a video or audio call. As this workshop is live, you will need to be available at the time specified to participate.
To access your workshop you will need access to a device with an internet connection and speakers – a computer, laptop, phone or tablet should do the job. If you would like to be able to talk with your tutor via audio your device will also need a microphone. If you would like to speak with your tutor via video your device will also need a camera.
Prior to the start date of your workshop our team will be in touch via email. We will confirm the email address you have used to create your Zoom account so we can add you to the class. We will also send you detailed instructions via email to help you log into your online workshop. We will have a member of our team on standby to assist you with any issues you may have accessing your class. Simply email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you need help.
Please ensure that there is no offence or inappropriate items in your background, a member of HCT staff will be observing each live session and monitoring overall behaviour. Please take care when moving, please be aware of any hazards such has ornaments that could be knocked over or trip hazards. Please wear comfortable footwear and do not wear socks on slippery surfaces such as laminate floor. Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing which is easy to move around in. Follow the teacher’s directions as per the video and be respectful of others in the class. We cannot accept responsibility for any injuries, loss or damage that maybe caused when following the movement. It is the viewers responsibility to look after their own safety and be sensible when moving and the viewer shall take part at his/hers own risk.
