Awarded a CBE in 2004, Nicholas Parsons demonstrates his unique ability as a solo performer and raconteur in this anecdotal entertainment based on his long experience of life and working in the various media of an unpredictable and fascinating profession. His ability to laugh at himself and see the humour in his early life and struggles to be an actor, while serving an Engineering Apprenticeship in the harsh world of Clydeside, building to anecdotes based on his varied work in so many branches of show business is a constant joy and a humorous revelation that keeps his audience enthralled from start to finish. Having worked for 10 years with Arthur Haynes in their comedy partnership, which established him to the public, also 3 years with Benny Hill. He has appeared in a series of Dr Who and hosted Sale of the Century for a record 13 years. He starred in many West End plays and appeared in three productions of The Rocky Horror Show playing The Narrator. He has presented the iconic BBC Radio 4 comedy panel game Just a Minute for 51 years and has great memories to recall. He is a member of The Grand Order of Water Rats and this year has the prestigious position of King Rat. He is Past President of The Lord’s Taverner’s charity and also work for the NSPCC and Silverline of which he is an Ambassador.
