MOVEMENT AND STORY TELLING FOR MOTHERS OF ALL AGES
When: Tuesday 11th March 2025 10am - 1pm with tea breaks (refreshments provided)
Where: Forest Arts Centre, New Milton
Tickets: FREE
This workshop is an opportunity to tell your story and meet with other women who have experienced (or supported family members through) the challenges of motherhood.
It forms part of the research for a new theatre show focusing on early motherhood and aims to dispel the taboos around postnatal depression. Your participation will help us to deepen our understanding of these challenges and give voice to women who have gone through them.
We invite you to reflect on the early memories of becoming a mother, through gentle movement exercises and writing prompts. Connecting movement, body and voice can be a holistic form of self expression and the chance to explore your personal story in a non-threatening and alternative way. No previous dance, movement, writing or theatre experience is required, just a willingness to participate.
A mental health specialist will be present during the workshop to talk to at any point.
