Come and learn how to create unique, spontaneous and expressive printed paintings at this fun and relaxed workshop. Monoprinting is a one-off printmaking technique that uses sheets of perspex and rollers to transfer unique designs onto paper. No two monoprints are alike and designs can only be used once.

There are endless opportunities for experimentation with this technique! You might choose to draw over the top or directly into the ink to create prints or experiment with a range of different textures, while being guided step-by-step by Kat.

Materials are included however please bring a pencil and flat items to print from such as doilies, lace, leaves, cardboard, string, bubble wrap or plastic bags. Please don’t bring anything precious as items will be laid onto the ink and will get grubby!

Everything you make in the workshop will be yours to keep and use as desired.

Session: Saturday 2 November 10am-4pm

Tickets: £65/£58.50

Tutor: Kat Ward

Kat Ward is an artist and educator from The New Forest. She has a BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art, worked as a Visiting Tutor at The Arts University Bournemouth and delivered interactive tours and workshops for Southampton Arts and Heritage.

Her first photographs were taken with disposable 35mm film cameras and she still has a soft spot for their aesthetic, often incorporating light leaks, multiple exposures and other imperfections into her work. She’s hugely inspired by nature and enjoys combining her love of the outdoors with collage, printmaking and alternative photographic processes such as anthotype, cyanotype and lumen printing.

Currently, Kat teaches creative arts to adults and children at a range of venues, including Hampshire Libraries, while also working as a Forest School practitioner. A patient and supportive teacher, Kat is passionate about helping others embrace their creativity while benefiting health and wellbeing!
