Enjoy one of our live music nights this winter, as we bring you the best talent from across the local region

Zoe Schwarz Blue Commotion
Vibrant and melodic, funky rocking blues featuring Hammond organ, drums, guitar, and vocals.  Zoe Schwarz Blue Commotion refresh the blues genre with eclectic arrangements, virtuosic playing, and vocal prowess.  Expect an exciting live set based around rootsy original songs, strong catchy riffs and exciting grooves; they mix old-school tradition with contemporary verve and sophistication.

Zoe and Rob Koral are a “nationally regarded couple, it tells in the power and professionalism of their performance…”.  Zoe’s dynamic and commanding vocal delivery is complimented by the unmistakable touch and flow of Rob-guitar, and the highly accomplished rhythm section of Pete Whittaker - Hammond organ and Eddie John - drums.

There is diversity, depth, and uniqueness to the band's music, where each of the band members is given the freedom to express their musical prowess and stamp their magic to the songwriting of Zoë and Rob.  A testament to their chemistry is the sheer volume of music written, recorded, and released, with ‘Chameleon’ (April 2020) being their 7th album in 8 years; and over 10 years of intense gigging, with concerts and festivals the length and breadth of the country and abroad, complimented with numerous rave reviews and accolades.

A great band. Terrific musicians all four of them

Maddie Morris
Maddie Morris is an artist who strives to make a difference in the world. Bold, insightful and refreshingly unique, they take traditional song in new directions to shine a light on contemporary issues.

Folk songs have always told stories, but how Maddie makes their mark is by turning this storytelling into action. Described by Jim Moray as “leading the next generation of socially conscious songwriters”, they use their work to highlight inequality, challenge viewpoints and provide an inclusive space for shared experiences.

Whether they’re turning a centuries-old ballad on its head or writing something new, Maddie places their focus on drawing out true meaning rather than being true to tradition. Their debut studio album, Skin, (release in February 2024) is a beautifully crafted collection of songs which amplifies the stories of those often marginalised by society. Passionately political, yet gently understated, this is music that deftly treads the path between art and activism.
