Green Room Live is back! Enjoy the long summer evenings and ease your way back into gig-going by coming to one of our live music nights this August. Bringing you the best talent from across the local region, in a relaxed setting with restricted capacities and a friendly welcome. On Thursday 19 August, join us from 7.30pm to enjoy:
A dynamic and inspiring collective of musicians who infuse an array of genres culminating in a melting pot of sax, strings, drums and keys. Mischa & His Merry Men deliver an energetic and compelling performance with their uplifting, socially charged originals taking you on an exciting voyage, laced with messages of peace, love and unity… the revolution starts here!
Inspired by traditional and contemporary folk music, Antoine & Owena create their own original blend of folk music that provides a feast for the ears, the heart and the feet. Together they combine the interpretive, classically influenced folk violin styles of Owena Archer, with the folk-rock guitar and bouzouki rhythms of Antoine Architeuthis to create an eclectic mix of original and traditional material inspired by history, tragedy, love and hope. Their original songs focus on storytelling and have been described as “well-constructed and convincingly told” (Living Tradition) and simply “Brilliant” (Folking.com), whilst their own take on traditional folk songs are stylishly sympathetic to the originals, but given new tunes with a contemporary twist.
Coosticks is the stage name of independent musician Graeme Wey, a singer-songwriter from Hampshire. He takes inspiration from classic songwriters and various musical genres to create tuneful and 'warm-hearted' pop songs with 'quirky' lyrics that stay with you from the first listen. He is currently in the middle of recording the third volume of his popular and acclaimed Seven Imaginary Songs albums and for his third visit to Green Room Live, he will be playing tracks from these albums in a stripped back acoustic style. He has been played on local radio stations and on BBC 6 Music where he was described as a "purveyor of melodic, catchy pop, rock and folk".
ScuttleShake is a women's acoustic band playing an eclectic set of folk-tinged Americana. As the smaller band configuration, Ruth and Megan combine harmonies, guitar, banjo, uke and occasional trumpet for Green Room Live.
