What will the workshop involve?
Knitting hats for premature babies using four needles. An opportunity to learn how to handle knitting on four needles with a small project. Please bring your own set (if required) of four size 3.25mm needles and a ball of 4pl baby yarn.
Who is it for?
Tutor: Roz Gear
Roz has been knitting since she was 4 years old. As a young mum with small children I started knitting display garments and customers’ orders for a shop in New
Milton to get ‘pin money.’ In her 40’s Roz suffered a breakdown and could no longer stay in full time employment, knitting was her saviour and the only thing she had the confidence to do. Roz was then head hunted by Forest Arts to start up a knitting group, the group now meets every Wednesday and Friday all year round and we have supported local charities raising hundreds of pounds.
What is "Fun Palaces"?
Fun Palaces is an ongoing campaign for cultural democracy, with an annual weekend of action every October.
The campaign promotes culture at the heart of community and community at the heart of culture. The weekend of action uses the combination of arts, craft, science, tech, digital, heritage and sports activities, led by local people for local people, sharing their own passions and skills, as a catalyst for community-led transformation, with active participation for all ages.
