Described as "strong on narrative" with "echoes of Sandy Denny" (RnR), Ellie Gowers' songs are at times sensitive and tender, but not without the fiery and darker discourse that has labelled Ellie as a dynamic and exciting artist.

Ellie is a songwriter and guitarist from Warwickshire. What grew from a childhood love of literature and traditional folk song is a carefully crafted and emotionally mature catalogue of original material, referencing artists such as Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake, and Laura Marling. Bringing to the stage a strong voice full of expression and maturity, her songs are written with sociological, ecological, and personal themes in mind.

Belonging, love and loss, nostalgia and home are all themes embedded into Ellie’s debut album, Dwelling by the Weir, where folklore meets contemporary singing. Taken from the old Saxon meaning of Ellie’s hometown, Warwick, Dwelling by the Weir is a collection of songs inspired by the rich history that Warwickshire offers.

Ellie is launching the album with an exclusive run of band shows. She will be joined onstage by double bass and strings in an exciting trio line-up, bringing these songs to life and connecting Warwickshire’s past to the present and future – a show not to be missed.
