Alternative Stage School - 1st Half Term (Spring 2020)

Are you a master of making up stories, inventing alternative universes or pretending to be somebody you're not?

Do you love playing, singing, acting, movement, music or craft?

Do you have a ridiculously creative and energetic spirit, or do you wish you had the confidence to share your imagination with the world?

We are all about working together to build confidence, empower ourselves and support each other to do amazing things. Together we will turn our own songs and stories into immersive and imaginative performance adventures to share with our friends and family, and the world!

For ages 7-13.

Tutors: Kate and Lucy Mellors

Kate Mellors is a very experienced voice coach and creative arts facilitator who has worked with individuals, schools, community choirs and vulnerable groups for almost 15 years. She trained at Leeds College of Music, is part of the Bearface Theatre interactive storytelling team, and sings professionally with various bands. She has seen the incredible growth that being creative as part of a team can bring to people’s lives and is determined to have a good giggle with you all while providing a safe space to push yourselves to do amazing, beautiful and surprising things.

Lucy Mellors is a professional opera singer and actor who loves cats, biscuits and rolling down hills. Trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, with a master’s in advanced Opera Performance, Lucy now spends her time working with choirs, drama groups and opera companies around the country, performing and creating all sorts of stories, and encouraging silliness wherever she goes.

Yes, Kate and Lucy are sisters. And yes, they have been making up ‘shows’ together ever since they can remember...
