Chimanimani are a dance band in the traditions of the wonderful Bhundu Boys. A blend of traditional and modern styles, their music fills the heart and gets the body moving, whilst reaching out and touching and uniting everyone in a common celebration of life.
This vibrant group of five extraordinary musicians has performed at festivals and venues across the UK including Glastonbury, Respect Festival, and the Africa Centre, Covent Garden and now come to us with a line up that includes Chanda Nyerazani (drums/ vocals), Cecilia Agatha (vocals/ dance), Simwinji Zeko (guitars/ vocals), William Allick (bass guitar) and Kudaushe Matimba (keyboards).
Chimanimani sing of life in the Zimbabwe of today, a land struggling against all odds to come out of poverty . Theirs is a joyful positive music from a country working towards a well deserved prosperity.
They embody everything expected from a
vibrant African dance band infectious rhythms, jangling melodies and
