Applying and Selection
Forest Arts Centre is located
in the New Forest and is a multi-arts venue offering a diverse range of
artistic and cultural activities and performances including music, theatre,
stand up comedy, dance, exhibitions, workshops and community events.
The Forest Arts Contemporary Craft Fair is open to makers of the highest standards living locally and across Southern England. Disciplines include ceramics, sculpture, glass, fashion and interior textiles, jewellery, metal, leather, wood, plastics, furniture, recycled materials, paper & mixed media.
Forest Arts is committed to helping raise the profile of emerging talent as well as established makers and is therefore also welcoming craftspeople and makers who have either graduated or set up independently in the last three years to submit an application.D
Forest Arts will select those who display a high level of skill and a flair for design. This unique event presents the opportunity to exhibit your talent and creativity as well as giving the general public the chance to purchase original pieces of craft.
In addition there will be creative workshops for children, seasonal refreshments available in our café area and live music.6Á6
Deadline
The deadline for applications is 1 August
2008
Space
The Fair will take place in three rooms within
the centre; Dance Studio, Café Bar and Workshop. Each room offers a
slightly different feel and table allocation. All tables are 27 inches x 6 feet
(68.5 cm x 183 cm) Tables can be hired by individuals or shared amongst a group
if preferred. Forest Arts will provide access to power points, general lighting
and seating. Stallholders must provide all display equipment, stands and any
additional lighting that may be required.
Prices
Each table costs £30 for the day. More
than one table is available on request but any additional table will also cost
£30. Please note that there are limited number of tables available.
Payment
We will require full payment to be made
within 14 days after notification of selection to guarantee your space. Payment
should be made by cheque and sent to Forest Arts Centre. All cheques should be
made payable to Hampshire County Council.
Publicity
Forest Arts asks that each application
include at least one digital image of work intended to sell. Images must be
high resolution and in jpeg format. No slides please.
If possible supply directly by email to harriet.webb@hants.gov.uk. Forest Arts may include images in publicity material. The Contemporary Craft Fair is advertised in over 11,000 seasonal brochures as well as through a thorough advertising campaign. Flyers publicising the event will be sent to all successful applicants.
